All change, please! End of the line for the HP Latex 280

Since HP's Latex technology was officially introduced back in 2008 as a water-based alternative to solvent ink, it has continued to grow in popularity and is fast becoming the default technology for outdoor printing. By 2016, HP experts predict that it will have shipped over 45,000 printers world-wide and be responsible for more than 300 million sq m of printed media. As the range grows and the technology behind them advances, older machines are now becoming obsolete. As such, the HP Latex 280 will be discontinued on the 1st of November 2015.

The HP Latex 280, formally known as the HP Designjet L28500, was announced back in 2011 as a 104" latex printer capable of printing at 70sq m/ hour on a wide range of media. Known for its ability to deliver great prints at fast speeds, the Latex 280 was able to produce prints faster and more affordable that most eco-solvent printers of its time.

While we will no longer stock the machine, Perfect Colours engineers will continue to provide service and support for current Latex 280 customers for the foreseeable future, while all inks and media can still be purchased through our Latex printing specialists.
