Are you looking to upgrade your CAD operations but aren't ready to commit to a significant investment? We've hand-picked a selection of machines that are great for both seasoned and new AEC professionals looking to upgrade their services.

Just starting out?

The 24in T120 is perfect for those starting out in the industry and is designed for home and small office use. This machine boasts both an A4 media tray and A3 roll holder to suit your operations, and its front-loading capabilities save on space. It can also be placed on a stand or workspace so it can be fully customised to your environment.

It is also capable of printing an A1 document in 70 seconds at 1,200 dpi, making it is perfect for users looking to bring their print jobs in-house.

Going off-road

Released in November 2015, the Designjet T series is loaded with features to make the life of the AEC professional easy. The T830 MFP and T730 machines both feature a rugged case to provide protection against damage and dust, while reinforced wheels make it perfect for operation at construction sites.

Both are 36in engines that can print an A1 document in 25 seconds at the high resolution of 2,400 x 1,200 dpi. Automatic sheet feeders reduce waste and labour costs when cutting job rolls; meanwhile HP's ePrint and Share service allow users to send files to print from anywhere.

This all makes these units extremely mobile. Not only can they withstand non-traditional operating environments but, by sending files through the ePrint and Share program, users don't even have to install printer drivers onto their computers.

Also in the range, is the super-fast, high-production T930, which can print an A1 in 21 seconds and comes with an optional PostScript module. The front-loading system saves you space in your office, while the in-built media stacker saves you time finishing jobs. Finally, its innovative flat-top allows you to quickly review and edit prints without the need for extra workspace.

In addition to this, we have a great range of offers on these machines. When you trade a machine in, you can receive up to £560 on the T920, £200 with the T830 and £100 with the T730.

Upgrading further

If you're looking for CAD machines with even more power, look no further than the T1530 and T2530 MFP units. These machines boast many of the features of higher-end CAD machines but at a lower price point. This makes them perfect for professionals looking to expand their operations.

These 36in engines are ideal for professional CAD and GIS drawings, providing crisp, sharp lines at 2,400 dpi using six inks. They print at the same speed as the T920 but can hold two rolls and ink cartridges up to 300ml for unattended printing. The two rolls are front-loading, align automatically and feature smart-switching between media types. The T2530 also features a single, easily operable control panel for all of its print, scan and copying functions.
