HP’s Latex 560 and Latex 570: spot the difference

Those clever characters in Barcelona have certainly been busy this week. Not happy with the release of the 3.2m superwide workhorse, the Latex 1500, HP has also brought out the Latex 560 and Latex 570, a pair of 1.62m wide-format printers that are set to light up the sign and display space.

But what’s the difference?

They both come in at 1.62m (64”) wide. They both hit 23sq m/hr in indoor quality mode, carry six colours (CMYKLcLm) plus the HP Latex Optimiser, and the usual mechanical features of an automatic XY cutter, take-up reel and roll lifter. Sounding similar so far?

You’re right. There’s only one key difference between the Latex 560 and the Latex 570: the size of the ink tank. Where the Latex 560 takes standard 775ml cartridges, the Latex 570 nearly quadruples that at a whopping 3l.

We asked our sales director Jon Telling why this distinction exists. He said:

“The HP Latex 560 is there, with the Latex mod cons, for printers who need top speed on demand – big batch orders of banner or mesh once or twice a month. The Latex 570, on the other hand, is for higher volumes and continuous work, with the three-litre ink tanks providing great economy for that kind of graphics print shop.”

Got it? Now meet the machines, book a demo and let’s see how Perfect Colours can help you make the most of your new Latex 500 series!
