Large-format print market to grow over next three years
The 'Global Large Format Printer Market 2012-2016' report has confirmed that over the next three years, the market will grow by 4.12 per cent.
This will be the compound annual growth rate (CAGR), businesswire.com revealed and will take place in the period leading up to the year 2016. One of the main drivers behind this predicted growth is the ongoing demand from advertisers for high-quality media.
What's more, printers that offer a bespoke service to users are helping boost the market too; even though initial investment in such wide-format printing models can be high, something which could prove to be a bit of a barrier to growth in the future.
An analyst from TechNavio, the company behind the report, further commented: "With the demand for large-format printers stagnating, there is a new trend observed in the market. Customers prefer printers that are customised to their requirements with either limited or extensive capabilities.
"Vendors are also developing printers that meet the requirements of various end-user segments, thereby trying to increase the demand for printers."
According to researchand markets.com, which also picked up and published the report, the key market leaders in wide-format printing remain the same. These include the likes of Roland, Hewlett-Packard and Canon, in addition to Oce. Whether or not they'll become the main manufacturers behind the estimated growth will remain to be seen.
