Its design incorporates direct fixing of the cutter bar via an extremely strong aluminum extrusion along the bench's cutting edge, creating an unparalleled stable foundation. At its core, the SmartFold Bench boasts the unique, patented Proteus construction method. This innovative approach delivers a workbench that is not only strong and secure but also exceptionally rigid, guaranteeing that it will not lose stability even with heavy use over time. This robust foundation is absolutely crucial for achieving consistent, precise clamping and ensuring repeatable, reliable cutting accuracy across the entire length of your cutter bar. The Proteus construction is also designed for straightforward assembly, with all internal fittings cleverly concealed to provide a flush finish and enhanced safety.

The SmartFold Bench offers excellent flexibility to suit your specific workshop needs. It is thoughtfully supplied without a worktop, giving you the complete freedom to select and install any suitable sheet material of your choice, including durable options like glass. For optimal performance and to ensure the worktop finishes perfectly flush with the Evolution3 SmartFold cutter's base plate, we recommend using materials that are 18mm (3/4″) thick. The bench is designed to accommodate standard 1.22m (4′) wide boards for the worktop.

Adding to its versatility, the SmartFold Bench includes a cantilever extension as standard. This specially designed system leverages the inherent strength of the Proteus construction, allowing you to extend the worktop width to a generous 1.525m (5’). Beyond expanding your workspace, this cantilever extension provides a comfortable overhang, perfect for fitting a stool or tall chair underneath, ensuring ample legroom for extended periods of comfortable working. The cantilever extension is fitted to the rear, non-cutter edge of the bench, while the Evolution3 cutter must always be fitted to the front edge, which benefits from stronger support and a dedicated mounting plate. The adjustable feet feature also allows for precise leveling on uneven floors, guaranteeing the critical flatness needed for consistent cutting accuracy.
