Went Greener with the HP Latex R530

Martin Slater had a problem that most growing print businesses will recognise. Why the HP Latex R530?

The short answer is that there's nothing else quite like it. The HP Latex R530 is the only compact hybrid printer in HP's entire Latex range, which means it handles rigid and flexible media from the same machine. Boards, banners, foamex, vinyl, fabric. Most print businesses running this kind of mixed workload either own separate machines for each or they're outsourcing one of them. Neither is a great situation when you're trying to grow.

But for Martin, the sustainability piece was just as important as the output. His clients are asking for it, and that conversation is only going one way. HP Latex inks are water-based. The inks are water-based and UL ECOLOGO certified. Prints come off the machine dry, ready to handle, and ready for finishing without any of the waiting or fume management that solvent kit requires. That's not a compromise, it's just a better way to produce.

The GREENGUARD Gold certification matters too. It means latex prints are approved for use in schools, hospitals, and other sensitive environments. If you've ever had to turn down a job because your current kit couldn't meet the spec, that's a door the R530 opens.

And from a sales perspective, being able to tell a client that their display materials were produced with water-based inks and can be recycled at end of life is increasingly the kind of thing that wins the tender rather than just ticks a box.
