Carlisle printing company snapped up by H&H Group

Cumbrian-based Cypher Digital, a specialist in large format printing, poster design and exhibition displays, has been purchased by holdings company the H&H Group.

NEBusiness.co.uk reports that as a result of the acquisition, H&H is now the largest print company in the north of England.

Cypher Digital, which also works in website production, joins signage and vehicle wrapping company Albany Signs - as well as Penrith company Reeds Printers - within H&H's portfolio.

Speaking of the new ownership, Paul Calland - formerly managing director of Cypher Digital - and now director of H&H Reeds Printers, said that joining forces with H&H enables the firm to deliver even better printing services to customers.

"As a result of this merger we can offer businesses across the UK cutting edge print at all levels and for all projects - it truly is a 'one stop shop,'" he says in a HHGroupPLC.co.uk statement. "Cypher Digital really complements H&H Reed Printers' existing portfolio of print offerings across a wider geographical spread. This really is a partnership made in print."

The company, which employs 12 staff and has a turnover of £1 million, will retain its existing workforce. It will continue to operate out of its base in Milnthorpe.

H&H Group also has a presence in Carlisle and Penrith with its other print businesses.
