Original HP inks earn durability certificate for use in PageWide XLs

It’s always good to be the bearer of glad tidings, so we’re happy to share with you the news that Original HP inks have been awarded ISO 11798 certification for durability when used in the HP PageWide XL series of printers.

What does this mean?

It means that HP PageWide XL inks are permanent and have an ISO 11798 certificate to prove it. ISO 11798 standards refer to permanence and durability of writing, printing and copying on paper. The inks have been required to pass a rigorous industry-standardized test to prove that they can withstand harsh exposure to light, water, abrasion and handling, and long-term storage and heat, while still remaining legible.

Why is this such amazing news?

Up until now, ISO 11798 certification had only been achieved with laser or toner based printers. However, HP’s new pigment ink formulation has smashed through the durability glass ceiling by delivering long-lasting laser-like qualities. It now means that PageWide XL printer users can have confidence that the work produced on the range has the required durability for archiving. This is an important requirement for some government departments and institutions, and certification now enables PageWide XL printer operators to bid for their work. Furthermore, it is only Original HP ink that has achieved certification for PageWide. Non-HP inks have not proved themselves durable to the same standards.

Additionally, HP PageWide XL blueprint inks are currently undergoing the same process and should be added to the ISO 11798 certificate imminently.
