Help Katy raise money on Sparkle Night

When Katy Munday’s grandmother was terminally ill, Ashgate Hospicecare looked after her, and all of her family, brilliantly. It’s something she’s never forgotten, so on 6th July, Katy and more than 3,000 other walkers will take to the streets of Chesterfield for a night time sponsored walk to raise money for the charity. Would you be willing to help her on the Sparkle Night Walk?

The 2019 Markovitz Sparkle Night Sponsored Walk

The annual Sparkle Night Walk has become one of the biggest events on Chesterfield’s calendar and it’s getting bigger every year – this year there are already more than 3,200 walkers registered, and every single one of them will be raising money to support the extraordinary work done by Ashgate Hospicecare.

Ashgate Hospicecare provides hospice care and support across the whole of North Derbyshire – and to continue with this service, they need the support of the whole community. They feel that it’s important to be able to provide people with care at home, so they can stay with the people they love, and the Sparkle Walk allows them to do that.

But it’s also a great community event – thousands of walkers, all dressed in pink, with sparkly bunny ears, flood the streets of Chesterfield. There are bands and entertainers along the way, fireworks and fun.

Katy says:

I am taking part in the Sparkle Night Walk for Ashgate Hospicecare on 6th July.

The walk is 10km around Chesterfield which starts at 10pm. All of the walkers have bright pink t-shirts and flashing bunny ears which can be seen for miles. There are over 3,200 walkers registered so far this year hoping to raise much needed funds for the hospice.

I am walking in memory of my Nanna Ella, she sadly passed away when I was younger but the care both she and all of my family received was brilliant.

I would like to do my bit and help raise funds to ensure this excellent service continues to help people across North Derbyshire.

As some of you may know Rachel also does voluntary work for Ashgate Hospicecare following the care of her mum and the help her family received after their loss and will be part of the team helping organise the event on the night. Also armed with a camera J

If anyone could please spare anything to help me on my fund raising it would be very much appreciated.
