New automation, stronger colour tools, and a modernised RIP. Here's what's changed, and what to check before you touch a live production environment.
PrintFactory has released 2026.2, and as the only authorised UK distributor for PrintFactory, we're the first call for most customers deciding whether and when to upgrade.
This release touches automation, colour management, day to day usability, and core RIP operations. Some of it is a genuine time saver. Some of it changes how existing workflows behave, so it's worth reading the compatibility notes before you roll it out to a live production floor.
Smarter Automation
Less manual handling, more consistent output
New Workflow components give you finer control over how jobs move through production. A direct Enfocus Switch integration means shops already running Switch elsewhere in their line can bring PrintFactory into that same automated chain, rather than treating it as a separate step.
AI assisted image upscaling and AI assisted flow building round out the automation work, aimed at cutting down manual prepress steps on higher volume jobs.
Stronger Colour Workflows
Fewer restarts, more precision
The resumable calibration sessions are the change most operators will notice first. Anyone who has had a calibration run interrupted partway through and had to start over will know why that matters.
RGB spot colour support and the new DTF white linearisation tools are aimed at shops that need consistent colour matching across substrates, not just accurate colour on a single material.

Multipage Editor setup
Set up multipage jobs directly in the Editor rather than working around it.

Standard advice, worth repeating every time: keep recoverable copies of the following before you start the upgrade.
If none of the Apple Silicon, TSN4, or VISU points above apply to your setup, 2026.2 is a straightforward upgrade with genuine gains in automation and colour control. If any of them do apply, test in a staging environment first rather than upgrading a live production RIP directly.
