The global large-format printing market is set to grow in the New Year, according to research from Marketsandmarkets.com.
It revealed that the industry will "continue to grow, driven by promotion and signage markets" during the next 12 months, bringing some positive news for retailers selling large-format or wide-format printers.
The website went into some detail with its research, segmenting the results down by "type", including models like a "UV-cured printer, aqueous-based Pinter, solvent printer, textile printer etc." The impact on the industry thanks to graphics upon vehicles, paper advertisements or floor graphics was analysed too.
It also took into account the market's leading manufacturers, the size of the overall industry and the latest technology available to creators of large/wide-format printers currently.
The report revealed that by 2016, it is thought the entire sector will be worth over £8 billion to the entire world. Currently it is worth just over £6 billion, representing a potential £2 billion rise, Sbwire.com revealed.
A separate survey on large-format printing was also undertaken recently, pushed forward by FESPA - the Federation of Screen and Digital Printers Associations. According to its results, of the respondents hoping to invest in a wide-format printer 2012, 33 per cent said they would be doing so in order to achieve quality with minimal running costs.
