Some 12,000 attendees headed to Barcelona at the end of February to visit FESPA Digital 2012, the event arranged by the Federation of European Screen Printers Associations.
Exceeding the initial target of 10,000 delegates, the conference saw guests arrive from every many areas of the world; ranging from the UK to Germany.
Spain provided the highest number of attendees, accounting for 45 per cent; whilst Italy, France and Germany each accounted for six per cent respectively. Four per cent came from Germany, in a turnout that was deemed "impressive" in the current "struggling European climate" by Wideformatonline.com.
The website continued to say: "While these leading European markets for wide format print are typically well represented among visitors to FESPA events, the location of the 2012 show in Barcelona had a particularly positive impact on attendance from Iberia and France.
"In all, visitors attended FESPA Digital 2012 from over 111 countries."
FESPA itself also commented on the event's success on Fespa.com; calling it the most "exciting" event to date. The body suggested that the great turnout is a sign of the opportunities present within the entire large-format printing marketplace - due to the ever increasing popularity of digital print.
FESPA will likely now be gearing up for its new few events - September's FESPA Mexico and FESPA Brazil, which will take place in March 2013.
